Ingredients

  • rolled oats - 1 cup (100g)
  • unsweetened applesauce - 1 cup (200g)
  • water - 3 cups (700ml)
  • apple - 1 (cut into cubes)
  • ground cinnamon - 1 tsp.
  • ground cardamom - ½ tsp.
  • vanilla extract - 2 tsp.
  • honey - 2 tbsp.
  • pecans - ⅓ cup (35g)

Preparation Instructions

  • 1. Combine all ingredients (apart from pecans) in a pot and mix well.
  • 2. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, covered, occasionally stirring for 10-15 minutes. Add additional cooking liquid if required.
  • 3. Serve topped with pecans and additional honey if desired.
