Ingredients

  • oatmeal - 1 cup (80g)
  • water - 2 cups (470ml)
  • salt - ⅛ tsp.
  • large pear - 1 (peeled
  • cored & roughly chopped) -
  • almond milk (unsweetened) - 1 cup (240ml)
  • maple syrup - 2 tbsp.
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp.

Preparation Instructions

  • 1. Place the oats, water and salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add in the chopped pears and half the almond milk, then stir well.
  • 2. When the oatmeal returns to a boil, lower the heat, cover with a lid, and let it simmer, stirring frequently, for about 15 minutes. Add milk to the rest of the milk as required.
  • 3. Once the oatmeal is smooth and creamy, turn off the heat. Then stir in the maple syrup and cinnamon.
  • 4. Divide between two bowls and sprinkle with some more cinnamon and walnuts (optional). Serve straight away.
